Turn it right. Perfect orientation in one click.

Drop any image. Rotate 90°, 180° or any custom angle. JPEG rotations are lossless — not a single pixel re-encoded. All locally, in your browser.

  • Lossless 90° JPEG rotation — zero re-encoding, zero quality loss.
  • Free-angle rotation from −180° to +180° with transparent corner fill.
  • Batch rotate up to 50 images with the same settings, ZIP download.

What people say

Photographers, designers, developers — they all rotate here.

I shoot vertical videos on my phone and they always end up sideways on desktop. One click here and done. The lossless mode means my JPEGs stay pristine.

The explanation of lossless JPEG rotation is useful — it updates the orientation flag without re-encoding. Good to know the tool isn't silently degrading the image.

I scan old family photos and they always come out slightly tilted. Typed 7.3° and it was spot on — first time I'd found a free tool that lets you do that.

Batch rotated 80 product photos for our catalogue — they all came back from a trade show sideways. Set 90°, dropped the whole folder, downloaded the ZIP. Took two minutes.

The transparent corner fill on free-angle PNG rotation is something I didn't know I needed until I used it. Handy for creative overlays.

Our CMS auto-rotates images based on EXIF, but our CDN strips EXIF data. Kindatool physically rotates the pixels, so images display correctly everywhere. Exactly what I needed.

I use it to rotate drone photos that come out at odd angles because of the camera mount. The live preview is instant and the quality is always perfect.

Client photos stay on my machine — rotation runs locally and nothing leaves the browser. Fast, clean, does what it says.

Feature · 01

One click for any standard orientation.

90° CW, 90° CCW, 180° — the three most common orientation fixes available instantly. JPEG files rotate losslessly by updating the EXIF orientation tag without touching the pixel data.

  • 90° CW
    Portrait to landscape
Phone photos taken sideways rotate to the correct display orientation in one click.
  • 180°
    Upside-down fix
Scanned documents and photos placed inverted on a flatbed scanner, corrected instantly.
  • Lossless
    No re-encoding for JPEG
Standard 90°/180° rotations on JPEG update the EXIF orientation flag — zero pixel data is changed.
Feature · 02

Any angle — from −180° to +180°, typed precisely.

Scanned document slightly tilted? Drone photo with a skewed horizon? Type the exact decimal angle and the image snaps to it. Transparent corners output as PNG or WebP.

  • ±180°
    Full rotation range
Type any angle with up to one decimal place. Positive is clockwise, negative is counter-clockwise.
  • PNG
    Transparent corner fill
Free-angle rotations leave corner gaps. PNG and WebP output preserves these as transparency.
  • Auto
    EXIF-aware rotation
We read the existing EXIF orientation before applying your rotation, so the final result is always correct.
How it works

Three steps. Zero uploads.

Drop your image, pick your angle, download. Every rotation runs locally in your browser — nothing leaves your device.

01 / DROP

Drop your image onto the folder.

JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or HEIC. Single file or a batch of up to 50. Pick from Finder, Photos, or your camera roll.

02 / TURN

Pick your rotation angle.

Click 90° CW, 90° CCW or 180° for instant preset rotation. Or type any custom angle for free-form precision.

180°
Custom: 15.5°
03 / KEEP

Download. Lossless and clean.

JPEG, PNG or WebP output. Lossless for standard rotations. Transparent corners in PNG for free angles. No watermark, no account.

Things people ask

Common questions about rotation.

Does kindatool upload my images to rotate them?
No. All rotation is performed locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image data is read from disk, rotated on an offscreen canvas, and handed back as a download — all locally. Open DevTools → Network while rotating and you will see zero outbound image requests.
What is lossless JPEG rotation?
For 90°, 180° and 270° rotations on JPEG files, we update the EXIF Orientation flag without re-encoding the image data. This means the pixel data is completely untouched — no additional compression artifacts, no quality degradation whatsoever. For free-angle rotations, re-encoding is unavoidable (the image must be redrawn), so JPEG quality is maintained at the level you set.
Can I rotate an image by an arbitrary angle?
Yes. Type any angle from −180° to +180° in the custom angle field, including decimal values like 7.3° or −12.5°. The image rotates to that exact angle. For free angles, output as PNG or WebP to preserve transparent corners — or choose JPEG and select a background color to fill the corner gaps.
Can I batch-rotate multiple images?
Yes. Set your rotation angle once, then drop up to 50 images. All rotate with the same settings in parallel using Web Workers. Download each file individually or grab them all as a single ZIP archive.
How does kindatool handle photos already rotated by EXIF orientation?
We read the existing EXIF Orientation tag before applying your rotation. This means if your photo already has an orientation tag (common in iPhone and Android photos), your rotation is applied on top of that — the final result always looks correct regardless of the original EXIF state.
What output formats are available after rotating?
JPEG, PNG and WebP. For free-angle rotations, PNG and WebP are recommended as they support transparent corner areas. JPEG fills transparent corners with a solid background (white by default, configurable). Input can be JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or HEIC.
