Thumbnails, product shots, print crops.

16:9 locked, crop, download. That's my YouTube thumbnail process now.

I crop product photos all day. Locked ratio, 50 images at once, all squared for the store. Fast enough to not slow me down.

The rule-of-thirds grid is a nice touch. It actually nudges you to think about composition, not just where to cut.

I was using Photoshop just to crop images. Now I open kindatool, drag the handles, done. It's faster for 99% of what I do.

Used the exact-pixel coordinate input to crop screenshots to the same dimensions for a technical doc. Precise, instant, no install needed.

Cropped a HEIC photo and exported it as WebP in one go. Didn't realise you could do that in the browser — pretty useful.

Pixel-perfect coordinates, every time.

Need exactly 1920 × 1080 starting at pixel 240,180? Type it. The crop frame snaps to your values without rounding artifacts or off-by-one errors.

  • X / Y
    Offset coordinates
Set the exact top-left origin of your crop with numeric precision.
  • W × H
    Exact output dimensions
Type the pixel size and the frame locks to it. No estimation, no surprise resizing.
  • Rule-of-thirds overlay
A faint grid over your crop region helps you place the subject where the eye wants it.
How it works

Three steps. Zero uploads.

Drop a file, define your frame, take it home. Every operation runs locally in your browser — nothing routes through our servers.

01 / DROP

Drag the image onto the folder.

JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC or TIFF. Up to 50 at a time. Or pick from your device — Finder, Photos, anywhere.

02 / FRAME

Drag the handles to set your crop.

Freeform or locked to a ratio. Type exact pixels for precision. The rule-of-thirds grid guides composition.

Things people ask

Common questions about cropping.

Does kindatool upload my images when I crop?
No. Every crop operation runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image data is read from your disk, drawn to an offscreen canvas, sliced, and handed back to you as a download — all locally. Open DevTools → Network and you will see zero outbound image requests.
Which formats can I crop?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and HEIC on input. JPEG, PNG and WebP on output. You can also convert while cropping — drop an iPhone HEIC, set a 16:9 crop, and download a WebP back. The format conversion costs you nothing extra.
How do I crop to an exact pixel size?
Use the coordinate inputs: type your desired W and H in pixels, and optionally an X / Y offset. The crop frame snaps to those exact values. For repeated use, lock the dimensions and drop multiple images — each one crops to the same spec.
Can I batch-crop multiple images to the same ratio?
Yes. Set your ratio (or exact dimensions) once, then drop up to 50 images. Each image is cropped to the same aspect ratio — the crop frame centers automatically on each photo. Batch results download as a single ZIP.
Will cropping re-compress my image and reduce quality?
Only if you output to a lossy format like JPEG — and even then, you control the quality slider. PNG and WebP lossless output is pixel-identical to the source in the cropped region. If you drop a JPEG and export as PNG, you get a lossless crop of the original (minus any prior JPEG artifacts).
Can I undo or adjust the crop before downloading?
Yes — the preview is fully non-destructive until you click Download. Drag the handles to reposition, retype the coordinates, switch ratio, or hit Reset to go back to the original. Nothing is written to disk until you explicitly choose to download.
